Orange Creamsicle Blended Salad

Did I like it? yes!
Was it easy to make with readily available ingredients? Mostly. The recipe calls for Dr. Fuhrman’s Blood Orange Vinegar. I don’t own any of the Dr. Fuhrman vinegars, but my local Trader Joe’s happens to carry an Orange Muscat Champagne Vinegar, which I used instead.
What specifically did I like about the recipe? I am a big fan of citrus in a smoothie with greens. Orange or lemon or lime–I love it all.
What specifically didn’t I like about the recipe? I would prefer a smoothie with either flax meal or chia seed. This recipe has cashews in it and I am beginning to think that I am on cashew overload.
I was also hesitant to use so much vinegar in a smoothie, especially since I don’t have the exact vinegar recommended in the recipe. So I cut the amount of vinegar considerably for my taste.
Would I make it again? Yes! Of the four smoothies I have made from the Eat to Live Cookbook, this one has been by far my favorite.
Is there anything I would do to improve on it if I made it again? I would probably substitute ground flax seed for the cashews, although I don’t think the smoothie would taste as good. I’m going to have to try it and find out for myself this weekend.
Overall Grade (completely unscientific, I admit): A-
