I went all MIA again here on Healthy Girl’s Kitchen.
My natural reaction is to say “I’m sorry,” but I’m working on accepting myself (and apologizing less) for exactly where I am at any given moment.
Maybe it’s because Cleveland seems to be the epicenter of the universe right now, with our NBA championship (thank you!) and all eyes on the Republican National Convention? Or maybe it’s all this sunshine and yoga? I swear it feels like every day is the best day ever right now.
But more likely it’s because this summer I’ve been spending my mental energy in some pretty freakin’ cool virtual places, including:
- the 30 Day Sobriety Solution/HGK private Facebook book club
- an online course called The Energy Blueprint with Ari Whitten (fascinating and very thorough scientific stuff about how to increase our energy level using nutrition, sleep, light and other techniques)
- a simply incredible online food addiction recovery program called Bright Line Healing with Molly Larkin
- another very interesting and powerful course called Transform Your Relationship with Food given by The Institute for the Psychology of Eating
All the more education so that I can develop my knowledge and skills and be the compassionate rock star health coach that my clients require me to be! Coaching has developed into a really big part of my life and I am absolutely passionate about helping people find their way around this whole messy business of plant based diets and food addictions.
I’ve also been doing a lot of “Kon Marie-ing” this summer, getting rid of some big items that I’d been hanging onto for WAY TOO LONG, and doing some well-needed redecorating after being in our home for almost a decade. I have had a lot of inspiration, I just need to choose what I need to do to give myself a refreshing change! Letting go of some of my things is the first thing, I feel like I’ve been hoarding! The next step is actually investing in something that will be used and not sit in a box. I know there are plenty of style ideas I could play with but sometimes it’s just so hard to know where to start! I’m amazed I even got round to letting go of bits and bobs recently, that’s definitely a start.
Boy, time does fly.
And then there’s all the cooking that’s going on around here. Batch cooking. I’m hitting my stride with this whole phenomenon and I’m hoping that in the fall, when the kids are back in school, I’ll be sharing a lot more about some techniques that I have developed to make batch cooking less daunting and more customized for you.
I hope that you are having a great summer as well. I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to!
I’m throwing this out there for all of you who live in North East Ohio. There will be a meeting of the group PlantBasedCLE on Cleveland’s East Side next week and yours truly will be one of the guest speakers.
I’m so excited. I’m working on finding my auditory voice. It’s a whole helluva lot scarier than writing a blog. At least for me it is.
So here are the deets for the meeting. I sure hope you will join us and cheer me on!
